Requesting Collision and Occurrence Reports Richmond Hill

Richmond Hill Police provides collision reports, self-reporting accident reports, and general occurrence reports to individuals, law firms, and insurance companies. Follow the steps below for submitting your request based on your role.

For Individuals

Submitting a Request
Members of the public can request reports by visiting York Regional Police headquarters and completing the Motor Vehicle Collision and General Occurrence Report Request form.

Requirements:

• Present one piece of valid photo identification (health cards and SIN cards are not accepted).
• Pay the applicable fee.

Requesting on Behalf of Someone Else
If you’re requesting a report for another person, the involved party must:

• Complete the Motor Vehicle Collision and General Occurrence Report Request form.
• Provide a copy of their valid government-issued photo identification.

Reports will be sent to the involved party by mail or email. Applicable fees apply.

For Law Firms and Insurance Companies

Submitting a Request Online
Law firms and insurance companies can request reports via email. Send an email to inslawrequests@yrp.ca with the following information:

• Client’s information
• General occurrence number (if available)
• Date and location of the incident
• Reporting officer’s name and badge number

After receiving your email, you will be sent an online application form. Payment can be made using Visa or MasterCard.

Submitting a Written Request
If the request cannot be completed online, submit a written request by mail, including:

• Client’s information
• General occurrence number (if available)
• Date and location of the incident
• Reporting officer’s name and badge number

Include a valid email address and the required fee (including HST), payable to “York Regional Police.” Mail the request to:
