Collision Reporting Centres provide a centralized location where individuals can report traffic collisions in compliance with provincial laws and to assist with insurance claims.
In Ontario, it is mandatory to report collisions under the following circumstances:
- Injuries: If anyone involved is injured.
- Property Damage: If the total damage to all vehicles exceeds $2,000.
Reporting Guidelines for Drivers:
- Collisions involving property damage must be reported within 48 hours at a CRC.
- If your vehicle is not drivable, a tow truck can take you and your vehicle directly to a Collision Reporting Centre from the scene of the accident.
